ICCCC LICENSURE FOR BIBLICAL COUNSELORS
Professional Recognition for Qualified Biblical Counselors
The International Christian Counselors & Coaches Commission (ICCCC) offers the Board-Certified Biblical Counselor (BCBC) credential through its Biblical Counselor Licensure process. This credential provides professional recognition for qualified Christian counselors who meet ICCCC’s training, examination, and credentialing requirements while maintaining a distinctly Christ-centered approach to counseling and ministry.

ICCCC Licensure is designed for qualified Biblical Counselors who desire to serve individuals and families through counseling that is grounded in Scripture, Christian faith, ethical practice, and compassionate care.
ICCCC recognizes the important distinction between Biblical Counseling licensure and state-issued mental health licensure. Our credential provides professional recognition within the Christian counseling and ministry context while maintaining the biblical foundation central to the counselor’s calling and practice.
IMPORTANT LICENSURE DISTINCTION
ICCCC Licensure is an ecclesiastical/professional Biblical Counseling credential and is not a state-issued mental health license. It does not replace any license required by federal, state, or local law. Licensees are responsible for practicing within the laws and regulations applicable to their jurisdiction.
LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS

MINISTRY & CREDENTIALS
Applicant must be a Christian ordained or licensed minister serving under a recognized church, ministry, or nonprofit organization.

EDUCATION & SCREENING
Complete qualifying Biblical Counseling education or specialized training and successfully complete the required background screening.
03.
PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS
Successfully complete ICCCC examination requirements, maintain professional liability insurance, uphold ICCCC ethical standards, and complete required continuing education for renewal.
THE LICENSURE PROCESS
STEP 1 — INITIATE THE PROCESS | $75
Submit the initial licensure request and pay the $75 initiation fee. Approved applicants receive access to the licensure study materials and practice examinations.
STEP 2 — PREPARE & COMPLETE THE EXAM | $50
Review the study materials and practice examinations, then complete the ICCCC licensure examination. The $50 examination fee includes two attempts.
The $50 examination fee includes two attempts. After two unsuccessful attempts, applicants must wait three months before retesting and pay a new $50 examination fee.
STEP 3 — FINAL APPLICATION | $115
After successfully completing the examination, submit the final licensure application. The $115 fee includes the required background check.
STEP 4 — COMMISSION REVIEW & LICENSURE
ICCCC reviews the completed application and supporting documentation. Submission of an application does not guarantee approval.
TOTAL INITIAL LICENSURE FEES: $240
Includes the $75 initiation fee, $50 examination fee, and $115 final application/background check fee.
License Renewal: Every 5 Years | $115
Licensees must complete 3 CEUs and maintain all applicable credentialing requirements for renewal.
