BA General Christian Studies Degree
The General Christian Studies degree offers the student the equivalent of a 4-year religious degree with a major in Bible.
This program cultivates the lay leaders to have a biblical worldview, in addition, a wide-ranging survey of general education courses. The student will select a minor which will emphasize the particular area of ministry suitable for the student.
Objectives of the Bachelor of Arts in General Christian Studies:
To assist students to understand vital Christian theology and basic systems of doctrine.
To provide students with a solid Biblical foundation for Christian living.
To equip students to successfully serve in their chosen field of ministry.
To deliver a basic knowledge of general education with a Christian perspective that can be used in all areas of life.
Pastoral Ministries
This selection includes such courses as Homiletics; Hermeneutics; Pastoral Ministries; Pastoral Counseling; Church Growth; and one other appropriate elective.
Christian Counseling
This selection includes such courses as Marriage Counseling, Family Counseling; Lifespan Development; Crisis Counseling; two other appropriate electives.
Intercultural Studies
This selection includes such courses as Introduction to Missions; Principles of Missions; Church Growth; Cross-Cultural Communications; World Religions; and one other appropriate elective.
Christian Education
This selection includes such courses as Fundamentals of Education I and II; Educational Psychology; Education in the Church; Philosophy of Christian Education; and one other appropriate elective.
